Scholarship for UP Students: CM Yogi to Allocate INR 5.86 Crore; Aiding Over 69K Sanskrit Candidates

 UP Sanskrit Scholarship Scheme has been announced at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University for all Sanskrit students without any age restrictions as a part of the eligibility criteria. 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the UP Sanskrit Scholarship Scheme. The scheme was announced at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University and strives to offer financial assistance to all Sanskrit students. As a part of this scheme, 69,195 Sanskrit students of the state will be benefited with INR 5.86 crore amount of scholarships. The scheme aimed to encourage students of the state to consider learning the Sanskrit language and also to elevate the language among students. 

UP Sanskrit Scholarship Scheme: Eligibility Revised

While addressing the students of the university, Yogi explained that the eligibility of the scholarship and its coverage have been increased. Earlier, only 300 students were eligible for the scholarship with age restrictions. However, under the new initiative, the scholarship will be granted to all eligible candidates without any age restriction, as reported by Indianexpress. “Sanskrit is not just dev vaani (language of gods), but also a scientific language that can be applied to modern fields like computer science and artificial intelligence,” he added further.

Moreover, Yogi encouraged the students to get their bank accounts opened in order to ensure the scholarship amount is securely transferred to their accounts. The institutes of Sanskrit learning will offer free accommodations and meals for students. These institutions will have the independence to recruit qualified Acharyas to teach the Sanskrit language.
