Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, who is also the state excise and finance minister, for the first time acknowledged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the national capital has incurred losses worth “thousands of crores” of rupees under the new excise policy 2021-22, but blamed it squarely on the Lieutenant Governor (L-G), who he alleged “made a U-turn at the last moment” before implementing the new regime from November 17, 2021.

 The UPSC’s decision to mandate document submission at the application stage for the 2025 Civil Services Prelims Exam follows the controversy surrounding probationary Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Puja Khedkar. Khedkar is accused of forging identity documents, misrepresenting information, and falsifying facts to gain additional attempts in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022. According to reports, Khedkar allegedly submitted a fake Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) certificate to claim reservation benefits. The scheme was announced at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University and strives to offer financial assistance to all Sanskrit students. As a part of this scheme, 69,195 Sanskrit students of the state will be benefited with INR 5.86 crore amount of scholarships.
